1.0: What Are Character Perks?
Character Perks are special bonuses awarded to players who demonstrate exceptional dedication to serious roleplay. They provide roll bonuses and research boosts for specific in-game activities.
- ✅ No limit to how many perks you can earn.
- ✅ Multiple perks can apply to one project if relevant.
- ❌ Same perks do not stack from different players.
- ⚠️ Research boosts are hard-capped at 0.25x per project, even if your total perks would exceed this.
Example: Researcher Bob has Scrapper, Salvager, Laser Commander, and Gourmet perks. For a laser pistol project, he can apply:
- Scrapper (gathering glass), Salvager (gathering wiring), Laser Commander (field testing) but NOT Gourmet is not relevant and cannot be applied.
2.0: How to Apply
To apply for a perk, you must:
- Fill out an application using this format.
- Elaborate on your character's story and how they developed this unique experience.
- Provide evidence that all events happened in-game OR write a 100+ word story on the forum's holotapes/RP section explaining how your character gained this skillset.
3.0: Application Requirements
Each perk tier has specific evidence requirements:
Fodder/Item Perks
- 10 screenshots
- 3 occasions minimum
- Must be with different factions/people if applicable (ambushing NCR, DR, etc)
Tier 1 Perks- 20 screenshots
- 4 occasions minimum
- Must be with different sources, items, or situations (mining ores, scavenging stones, glass, sand, etc)
Tier 2 Perks- 40 screenshots
- 5 occasions minimum
- Different procedures or scenarios (e.g., check-ups, surgery, bullet removal for Doctor perk for instance)
Important Notes:- Each perk requires its own individual application.
- Perks that require other perks must still meet their own screenshot/occasion minimums.
- Research project efforts can count! They must be accepted projects. You must explain how your work on the project helped you earn the perk and provide a link to the project.
