Question 5.) What is your characters background?
Vince Castellanos was born in Vault 10 — one of the few functioning Vaults still sealed since the Great War. Life there is built on order, discipline, and silence. Every day begins with the same morning broadcast: “Vault-Tec protects, Vault-Tec provides.”
His father was a security sergeant, his mother a supply clerk. From the start, Vince’s life was structured — clean uniforms, perfect posture, and absolute trust in the Overseer. He joined Vault Security at 18, excelling in observation and investigation. He wasn’t the strongest officer, but he was the most perceptive; he noticed the nervous glance before a lie, the twitch in a hand before a fight.
But curiosity has a way of growing in the dark. In the last few years, Vince has started questioning the purpose of Vault 10’s endless “safety drills” and sealed laboratories. The Overseer claims they’re studying long-term isolation — but Vince has seen sealed sections marked “Authorized Personnel Only” for as long as he’s lived.
He’s begun sneaking into the science wing after hours, talking to technicians, and reading unclassified research logs. The work fascinates him — environmental data, mutation studies, old-world biology. It’s become clear to him that Vault 10 was never just about survival… it was an experiment.
Now Vince stands at a quiet turning point: remain the obedient security officer he was trained to be, or embrace his growing fascination with research and uncover the Vault’s true purpose.
Question 6.) Factions you've been apart in if any?
Legion, NCR
Question 7.) Oh, no! You've been exposed to radiation, and a mutated hand has grown out of your stomach! What's the best course of treatment?
He’d record everything: pulse rate, tissue reaction, texture, movement, pain levels.
Grabs a mirror or reflective panel, documenting the mutation through his Pip-Boy camera.
Begins a log entry titled “Subject V.C. — Radiation Adaptation, Phase One.”
Question 8.) Your grandmother invites you to tea, but you're surprised when she gives you a pistol and orders you to kill another Vault resident. What do you do?
Vince wouldn’t reach for the pistol right away. His instinct would be to read the room — her tone, her eyes, whether she’s frightened or detached. He’d want to understand why she’s doing this before reacting.
He’d speak softly:
“That’s not the kind of request you make over tea, Grandma. Tell me what’s really happening.”
Question 9.) Who is indisputably the most important person in Vault, He who shelters us from the harshness of the atomic wasteland, and to whom we owe everything we have, including our lives?
the Overseer
The Vault is everything to its denizens. Any act of betrayal, leaking gear, or harming the Vault from within will not be tolerated. Characters caught doing so may face consequences! By joining, you acknowledge this is a born in app and failure to follow it can result in VT removing demoting or being blacklisted in the faction! (Do you understand this? )
