Why do you want to join BOS:
I've always loved the faction of the BOS, from my start on divide all the way to the release of Phoenix i've always had a love for this faction. Some might already know my history in the faction. However even past the drama i've never lost the love for this faction. BOS has and always will be the one faction I'm willing to dedicate my time to. And with the change in management in BOS and release of Phoenix I want to give it a try and see if I can have the same fun I've had for over the year of me being in the faction back in divide.

Character Name: Valerie Sanchez


Backstory:

Valerie Sanchez was born in a bunker, she did not live much outside of her brotherhood circle thus cementing the Brotherhood as a force of good for the wasteland. She from a young age tinkered with random bits of tech, however she also was a proficient marksman, this later on developed her interest in both the Paladin and Scribe branch. Once she reached the rank of Initiate she set out on a voluntary expedition into the Mojave and joined the local chapter there.

I'd ask for evidence of such actions, such accusation should not be made without evidence, and if the sentinel fails to provide it, then it puts in question his claim. If no evidence is provided i'd consult the Elder or Head paladin as they might provide more information on this situation.

I advise the Knight SGT that this action is against the goals of the brotherhood, although it might seem like the logical thing to do the NCR is neutral and breaking the neutrality undermines the leadership and it's goals. If the Knight SGT disregards this I'd advise with a higher ranking member.

The Elder has come into possession of a nuke and wants to use it for a war, what do you do?

If the elder wishes to break the codex they are as much a traitor as anyone else, I'd contact the other members of High Comm and tell them about his actions, if they support such actions i'd resort to reporting it directly to Lost Hills for trial.

The Brotherhood is the most honorable faction in the wasteland. They purified the water in DC, and cleared out the enclave. They stopped the Institute, they collect sick ass technology, and wear badass power armor. There is no better faction. BOS FOR LIFE.

Character Background:
Joe doesn’t have much of a background, he had the same training as everyone else, same education. Joe is pretty good at repairing and maintaining weapons, as well as land navigation. Overall, his combat related skills are pretty good at this point in life.

Backstory:
Obviously, Joe Black was born into the Brotherhood, to one Joe Black Sr. and Lena Black. One of Joe’s earliest memories, is his dad taking him to watch the paladins come back from a mission. The armor, the prestige, all of it attracted him. He decided, he would do nearly anything to get to that position, crawling and clawing if need be. Joe was above average when it came to his education, and was among the top of his class when it came to training. He wasn’t particularly talented, it was mostly hard work chasing his dream that got him to those heights.
Joe worked hard once he was cleared for field work, chasing opportunities left and right to chase his dream. His first mission was to travel with a small patrol to scavenge some ruins near Vegas. He stood out amongst his peers during this mission, for recognizing an ambush via mines, avoiding massive casualties. Since then, Joe hasn’t had the chance to do much of note yet, but his hard work is commendable.

The Sentinel is the second highest rank, right under the Elder. While it pains me to assist in killing a brother/sister, I am not one to question a Sentinel.

I’d encourage him to move on, considering the ghoul poses no threat to us, even if it is an abomination. It’s better to save relations with the NCR than do anything against one singular ghoul.

The Elder knows what is best for the Brotherhood. I will not question him on what the nuke will be used for.

Why do you want to join BOS:

      I want to join the BOS for a couple reasons but the main one is my interest for their roleplay. As someone who grew up playing fallout 3, I always admired the Brotherhood of steel. From how they take care of one another and their devotion to their codex I think it really makes them stand out as a superior faction in my opinion. Of course how could you not like their power armor also? BOS has always been my favorite from when your first see them in their armor in the intro scene of fallout 3, which has lead me to my interest of having the ability to roleplay as one in the server.

Character Background: 

    Travis was a young child when he was abandoned and rescued by a Brotherhood patrol, this lead him to growing up and idolizing the Brotherhood of Steel. The compassion the Brotherhood demonstrated by rescuing him when he would have surely died has lead him down the path of joining as a way of repaying the debt he owes.

Backstory: 

    Travis does not remember what his parents looked like only the first emotion he ever felt, fear. When Travis was a small child he was rescued by the Brotherhood as he was abandon by his parents. Travis was scrounging for food under a collapsed overpass when he heard thundering footsteps of a patrol. Suited up in Power Armor it was strange to see these men, Travis plead with the patrol before they agreed to take him back to Lost Hills. From this point on Travis grew up idolizing the way the Brotherhood treated one another, he yearned to be one of them. The Brotherhood didn't just save his life that day, they gave him a reason to live it.

     The first thing I would do is ask if he can show me evidence as I understand a Sentinel is a high ranking officer and he carries a lot of weight in the Brotherhood. Furthermore it is important that we provide proof in order to not erode any trust within the faction as someone who has earned the rank of a Paladin has devoted their life to the Brotherhood. I would ask if a trial is more fit as it would allow the Elders to decide on a proper disciplinary process while still respecting the Codex as justice must be served for it being broken.

    I would remind my SGT that we do not act on our emotional responses we need to follow the Codex and Chain of Command. If the Ghoul is a threat we should first detain him, and then bring him to command in order to get a well rounded decision on the proper way of handling this issue. If we were to do anything irrational we could easily cause a war that is not needed and it is our job to preserve order not to create chaos.

     If the Elder has come into possession of a nuke and wants to use it for war I would remind him of our codex. I inform the Elder how the codex does not sanction wanton destruction, and we should be doing everything we can to protect human life. I would ask if we could gather the other Elders in order to have a clear cut decision as what is the best course of action to do with this piece of technology. I would insist that the Elder take his evidence that he has for the use of this nuke and present it in front of the council for review. This would allow a clear cut decision on how we should proceed as a group in order to use this technology.

Backstory:

• Caleb was found alone in the wasteland as a child during a Brotherhood patrol. No one knew where he came from or what happened to his family — only that he had survived on his own. The patrol brought him back to their bunker, where he was raised among the Brotherhood. As he grew older, he trained to fight, repair weapons, and follow orders without question. The Brotherhood became his only family, and its teachings shaped everything he believes.

• I would obey the Sentinel’s order. As a Knight, it’s my duty to follow the chain of command. If the Sentinel says a Paladin has broken the Codex, I trust his authority and act without hesitation.

Why do you want to join BOS: I have played on one of the older fallout servers, as a follower, VT, and all that good stuff, I finally got around to playing as a BoS and then two days later the server shut down... I'm hoping now I can play BoS in a new exciting place and can't wait to squash some muties. I also have to mention, I love them in every single fallout game.

Character Background: Nick has been relatively sheltered for most of his life, hardly ever leaving the bunkers or buildings, much preferring the safety of the indoors. Instead of playing with his peers, he would often times be found in the school room, pouring over book of all sorts, tech related or not. This has led him to become an apt researcher, with a quizzical mind, if not a bit socially awkward. Also, due to his sheltered life, he is absolutely disgusted by mutants and abominations that occur outside of the bunker.

Backstory: Born of two run of the mill brotherhood members, both of which were lower ranking knights, Nick experienced an okay childhood. While growing up he seemed to not inherit either of his parents' good genes for height or brawn, instead growing up slightly shorter and scrawny. This led him to fall behind his peers in a physical sense, but in no way a mental sense. The time he saved from not playing with his friends was poured straight into studies, he could almost always be seen at the heels of a higher scribe, eager to get their approval or input on his projects. Now, his parents are forcing him to go out more and experience the wasteland for what it is.

Answer: Since Nick grew up mostly in the shelter of the bunker, he would probably have some trouble killing another perfectly healthy human. However, he was also brought up to respect orders at all costs and would attempt find a way to painlessly end the Paladin, only outright shooting him if no other method presents itself.

Answer: Again, due to Nicks upbringing he would not feel bad in the slightest about killing an abomination like a ghoul, however, he would come to the conclusion that purging one ghoul is not worth the trouble with NCR and express this opinion to the Sergent. If the SGT were to continue, Nick would not assist.

Answer: Nick would remind the Elder of his duty to mankind as a whole. The BoS are the wardens of technology, meant to protect humanity from itself and its creations, using the nuke would be an almost direct violation of this in almost all situations. If this reason fails to gain the Elders cooperation, Nick would go to the other high-ranking members of the BoS and plead the same case, attempting to prevent the use of the nuke at all costs. If he were to fail in this, Nick would not further interfere, the Elder is Elder for a reason, perhaps Nick is mistaken and using the nuke is, somehow, the right option. (He also would definitely want to keep the nuke for dissection and research, just because of his studious nature)

Backstory:
Born to a family of farmers who had often interacted with the Brotherhood of Steel, his family and the surrounding ones offered a fair amount of produce in exchange for protection, it wasn't worded that way, but it worked the same. Alfie had always admired the power of the Brotherhood and how noble it seemed. Sometime during his later childhood, a band of raiders decided his family's homestead looked like an easy score . Brief chaos ensued, and after a short time, a nearby Brotherhood patrol came to aid the farmers, but the damage had been done. Alfie was lucky to be rescued and brought back with the patrol, being raised and shaped to the Brotherhood's standards. Following the path of his fellow brothers and sisters in honoring and bringing to life the words and teachings of the Codex.

If they have broken the codex I would have no reason to disagree. However for safety precautions I would report this to the elder and other council members.

The Sentinel of the Brotherhood has ordered you to assist him in the killing of a Paladin, he has told you they have broken the Codex and needs you to do it right now. What would you do?

Regardless of the Sentinel's authority, to kill a Paladin is a serious offense and the proposition of killing one in the first place should not be taken lightly; I would summon the head Paladin as well as any other high commanding members before acting with blind faith toward the Sentinel's accusation.

The BOS encounters a ghoul on their patrol that is apart of the NCR, the BOS is currently Neutral with NCR but your Knight SGT feels compelled to take action, what do you do?

If the ghoul is a threat we would have no choice but to take action, however boundaries must be established; in that scenario I would propose instead of killing the ghoul, we send in a low ranking recruit with a message to relay back to their faction and inform them of our presence, establish a landmark so they know when they've entered our territory; and that they've ventured too far and be weary of any further scouting patrols after the message is sent.
